BINGLE, BINGLE, HERE I COME...!!!

Australian Vice-Captain Michael Clarke has quit the tour of New Zealand and flown back home due to some 'personal reasons'. Unfortunately, in this age and times, nothing is 'personal' when it comes to life and affairs of high-profile couples like Clarkey and his supermodel fiancee Lara Bingle.

The latest drama comes after an Australian women's magazine published a near-nude photograph of Bingle, allegedly taken by her former lover and AFL player Brendan Fevola during the pair's brief affair in 2006.

Now, Bingle has initiated legal action against Fevola for allegedly distributing the revealing picture, taken on a mobile phone.

"Wish you were here...", wrote Bingle on social networking site Twitter within hours of which came Clarke's mad dash to Sydney, leaving the Australian team management and his teammates scratching their heads.

This, however, isn't the first time when the so-called 'future Test captain of Australia' has let his personal life affect his cricket career.

"He's had to leave the tour, so (his personal life) has encroached on his cricket. That's not the way you want to be playing your cricket and living your life," Australian legend and commentator Mark Waugh told Brisbane Times.

"It's difficult being a high-profile sportsman having a high-profile partner. You're in the spotlight all the time, for good and bad reasons. It's difficult to handle, especially when the press is negative. It's not easy for anybody, and negative publicity has got to affect you at some stage. When it's your wife or partner involved, it's difficult to handle. Hopefully there's not too many more dramas in the future," he said.

"Leaving tours for personal reasons isn't ideal, but it's the first time and hopefully it's a one-off. I'm sure Michael would like to lead a much quieter life, but it's not possible with the arrangement he's got. There's always going to be that balance between playing and off-field dramas," Waugh added.
