CRICKETLOGIC EXCLUSIVE: 'AUSTRALIA'S MEN OF CRICKET' SET HEARTS RACING

3 Mobile and Cricket Australia launch limited edition Men of Cricket calendar in support of the McGrath Foundation

3 Mobile and Cricket Australia have joined forces in creating a limited-edition 13-month calendar called ‘Men of Cricket’ in aid of the McGrath Foundation. Available online and in 3 Mobile stores from November 20, the calendar features stylish, sexy shots of our hottest cricketers like you’ve never seen before.

Eight Australian team members feature each month including Michael Clarke, Mitchell Johnson, Shane Watson, Simon Katich, Shaun Tait, Ben Hilfenhaus, Shaun Marsh and Nathan Bracken, as well as rising stars of interstate cricket Adam Crosthwaite, Aaron Bird, Moises Henriques, Scott Brant and Nathan Reardon, all participating as part of Cricket Australia’s Cricket Cares initiative.

All ‘Men of Cricket’ donated their time in aid of the McGrath Foundation, with all proceeds from the calendar contributing towards training and funding breast care nurses. McGrath Foundation Director Tracy Bevan says:

“Jane and I shared many passions in life, not the least being the love of a cricketer. This is why I know that while Jane would have loved this calendar, she would also have been a little disappointed it didn’t happen sooner when our own hubbies Michael and Glenn were amongst the Aussie team!”

Commenting on the calendar, Glenn McGrath, Australian cricket legend and Chairman for the McGrath Foundation, said he was really proud of the players for getting behind the project.” While I know I may be accused of being bias, I think this calendar is the best of its kind in sport, with our current cricketers showing off some of their best assets.

“Having said that, I’ve also got to say I’m actually quite glad the calendar is happening now rather than a few years ago as I’m not sure how much notice I would have needed to feel comfortable getting my shirt off. Then again, clearly that must have been the case this time around for Haydos and Pup as they’ve kept their gear on this time!”

Commenting further then, calendar spokesman and Australian batsman Matthew Hayden says he’s also proud of this project and the work the Australian team is doing in supporting the McGrath Foundation.

“What I didn’t know was that my status as the ‘old man of the team’ would be brought into such stark contrast thanks to the photographic lens – you’ll notice I’m the one fully clothed!”

“Over the years Jane’s courage and grace under the most extreme circumstances was a source of inspiration. It is an honour to now be part of her team in helping raise funds and helping to realise her dream of a breast care nurse for every family affected by breast cancer.”

As a sponsor of the 3 Mobile Test Series, 3 Mobile was eager to combine its dedication to cricket and the McGrath Foundation. Noel Hamill, 3's Director of Sales, Marketing and Product said:

”Making this calendar was a natural step to take. We are excited to be able to offer cricket fans a glimpse into the lives of our cricketers, plus support a cause that affects so many Australian women each year.”

The calendar priced at $29.95 will be available from 20 November exclusively in 3 Mobile stores and online via 3’s dedicated website
