PUNTER'S POOR RUN

It is now official. Even the 'invincible' Australian cricketers are liable to crack under pressure. It took a good, honest, humble and trustworthy character like Adam Gilchrist to admit it. Captaincy, said Gilly, is taking a toll on Ricky Ponting. "Things like the Pakistan tour hanging around, the IPL, the Indian Test series and all the issues including the Harbhajan hearing have affected Punter's form this summer," opined the retiring Australian cricketer.
"He has had to take the brunt of it," he added. Ponting's form has taken a huge dip in the ongoing Commonwealth Bank tri-series vs India and Sri Lanka.
The 33-year-old has, in the last four ODIs, aggregated just 43 runs with a highest of 25. His average of 10.75 the lowest amongst the Australian batters.
