INDIA'S SPINNING FORTUNES

What should the Indians do to make sure that they don't crash to an embarrassing series loss in Kanpur? The curator at Green Park is reportedly under tremendous pressure to produce a turning track. Maybe Mr Kumble and company wants to see a 5th day turner on the first morning itself.

Play three spinners, comes the cry. Yes, give the new ball to Harbhajan Singh and get yourself going from the other end, Jumbo. Munaf Patel can be brought in as the first change. Why Munaf? Well, at the speed he's bowling these days, he's anyways as good as a spinner! "Don't worry," says the Proteas skipper Graeme Smith to his men. "Next bowler would be Ishant Sharma who, even if passed fit, will fail to deliver toe-crushing yorkers, thanks to the inflammation to his big toe.

Ok, agreed it's some serious business ahead. India must win the 3rd Test in order to maintain its second spot in the ICC Test team rankings. A loss, even a draw, will push them to the 4th position. So, put on your thinking caps, and give Mr Kumble your valuable advice.
