BOUCHER, THE BEST OF THE REST

With a record 418 Test match dismissals to his name, including 399 catches and 19 stumpings, South Africa’s Mark Boucher is surely an icon of the game.

The Proteas wicketkeeper had recently reclaimed his world record from retiring legend Adam Gilchrist.

The question we are asking here at cricketlogic.blogspot.com is whether there is any wicketkeeper in international cricket right now who has the potential to challenge Boucher in the foreseeable future?

Who would you pick as your choice to challenge him?

Just to put Boucher’s achievement in perspective, here are the stats of his immediate competitors playing Test cricket right now:

K Sangakkara (Sri Lanka) 147 dismissals (127 catches + 20 stumpings)

Kamran Akmal (Pakistan) 142 (123 +19)

MS Dhoni (India) 78 (65+13)
